Have you ever been to a birthday party where you’re stuck in a circle of people you barely know? Welcome to the Dutch Kringverjaardag! A tradition marked by “interesting” food choices, tedious small talk, and awkward silences. We used this concept as a metaphor in our animated short.
Through this story, we wanted to show that even if you don’t belong to certain social circles, you can always build your own, and attract those who truly resonate with you. This is our message and marks the beginning of FYRNE, the studio we founded during our time at St. Joost.
